Job Description - IT Service Desk Intern

Summary Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures is looking for a qualified intern to join our IT team. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in our company culture, and gain skills and knowledge that will enhance career opportunities. You are strategic and discerning. You are a natural leader and a problem-solver, and you are highly motivated when your work has deep, meaningful impact. The work you do, will enrich, and build the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, who take pride in their communities and seeing the growth and develop. Essential Duties Of The Position
  • Participate in meetings, summarize minutes, and develop communications as related to discussions.
  • Conduct research for projects as designated.
  • Assist in preparation of presentations and the ability to communicate message, both written and oral, to various
sized groups.
  • Work with key stakeholders managing multiple projects and provide suggestions.
  • Collaborate across business units to support company initiatives and department projects.
  • Display a high level of maturity, discretion, self-direction, and the ability to manage confidential matters.
  • Assists with Service desk calls.
  • Other duties as assigned that are related to this role.

Special Qualifications
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college and working toward receiving a degree.
Mathematical Skills
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages,
common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference. REASONING ABILITY
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts,
and determine appropriate response. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Talk and hear; ability to communicate effectively.
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
  • Stand, walk, run, sit, (up to 8 hours) balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Be able to lift and carry objects up to ten (10) lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:
  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).
  • Secondhand smoke (public areas).
