Job Description
As a Jr. System Specialist for the Baggage Handling System, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of baggage handling system within airport. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that baggage handling processes run smoothly, minimizing delays, ensuring customer satisfaction. Estimation duration of paid internship up to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance checks on baggage handling equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
- System Monitoring: Monitor the performance of baggage handling systems through the use of computerized monitoring systems. Respond to alarms or alerts promptly and take necessary actions to resolve issues.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to airport staff and other relevant personnel regarding the operation and maintenance of baggage handling systems. Offer guidance on best practices for system usage and troubleshooting procedures.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues and prevent equipment failures. Conduct inspections and replace worn-out components as necessary to maintain system reliability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used. Generate reports detailing system performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.
- Warranty case handling and documentation.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities on baggage handling systems. Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with established safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or awarded Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of HLC servers
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical or electromechanical systems, preferably baggage handling systems or similar equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to equipment maintenance and operation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC security clearance.
- Able to physically lift up to 50 pounds and stand | bend for extended periods of time.
