Job Description - Intern/Co-op - Business

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Administration Co-op to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate environment. The intern will support the HR team with short-term disability claims management and full-cycle recruitment tasks.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and management of short-term disability claims, including documentation, communication with employees, and coordination with insurance providers.
  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing offer letters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, such as preparing reports, organizing files, and handling correspondence.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and enhance employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Your Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Holder of or actively pursuing a CHRP designation
  • Strong interest in HR functions, particularly in disability claims management and recruitment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • SAP/SuccessFactors experience is a plus
  • Own transportation is preferred

Additional Information

 

  • Working between both locations within Stratford, ON
  • This position is a 4-month internship (starting September 2024)
  • Starting rate $23.65/hr  
  • Within commuting distance from KW and/or London area (working on-site is a must for this role)
