Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Intern – Marketing (Trade) position will gain experience in all areas of book marketing and receive exposure to the broader publishing teams.

The Intern –Marketing (Trade) will get a broad overview of the department’s structure and the various roles within marketing.

d) Favourite book, author, genre, and why

The intern will focus in these areas of book marketing:

• Trade and Hardcover Marketing:
o Assisting the Marketing Managers with campaigns (such as helping to come up with ad taglines and book giveaways)
o Attending Imprint meetings and taking minutes
o Helping the team prepare for Sales Conference

• Library Marketing:
o Assisting the team on Librarian outreach
o Helping with Library conferences

• Digital Marketing:
o Assisting with the Digital Ad tracking system
o Attending brainstorm meetings
o Helping with ad invoices

• Backlist Marketing:
o Assisting with backlist priorities
o Attending brainstorm meetings and assisting with author backlist brand strategies

• Mass Market and Mass Merch Marketing:
o Helping the team prepare for Mass Market planning meetings with the sales force

Specific training or job experience required includes:
• Completion of university or college education, or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of marketing, communications or publishing
• Interest in marketing or publishing
• Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada
