Job Description - Marketing Intern (Fall )

Are you ready to gain some hands-on marketing experience alongside a driven and positive team of professionals? Envol is searching for an innovative and curious Marketing Intern to join their dynamic team for Fall 2024! 

NOTE: This is a full-time internship (4-month or 8-month term) beginning September 2024. This opportunity is funded through the Venture for Canada grant. Due to funding requirements, only candidates who meet the Venture for Canada eligibility criteria will be considered.  

As our next Marketing Intern , you will play an important role in building and nurturing relationships with our customers, users, and community. You will be responsible for content creation, graphic design, and video editing to drive digital audience engagement our business-to-business (B2B) software company. 

YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

As our next Marketing Intern , you will work alongside our Digital Marketing Specialist to create and deliver on daily execution of big picture ideas, concepts and strategies. Your key responsibilities include: 

  1. Content Development: Create compelling and original content for our website, social media channels, blog, email newsletters, and other digital platforms. 
  2. Writing and Editing: Use AI tools like ChatGPT to write clear, concise, and engaging copy for a variety of purposes, including articles, social media posts, email campaigns, and promotional materials. Proofread and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and style. 
  3. Multimedia Production: Create multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and infographics, to enhance our online presence and storytelling efforts. 
  4. Social Media Management: Help manage and grow our social media presence by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and identifying trends and opportunities for content creation. 
  5. Content Strategy: Contribute ideas and insights to help develop and execute content strategies that align with our brand identity, target audience, and marketing goals. 
  6. Research: Conduct research on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to inform content creation and strategy. 
  7. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze the performance of content across various channels using analytics tools. Prepare regular reports summarizing key metrics and insights to inform future content decisions. 
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and sales, to ensure alignment of content with overall business objectives and messaging. 

YOUR BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • You're a current post-secondary student (returning to school in Fall 2024), ideally from a business, marketing, web design, or related program. 
  • You are eligible for the Venture for Canada grant, which is funding this position (visit this link for detailed footnotes). 
  • Technically proficient in using content creation tools and platforms, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, and social media management tools. 
  • Basic knowledge of SEO principles and best practices is a plus but not required. 
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop innovative content ideas and storytelling approaches. 
  • You’re an excellent communicator and collaborator with a keen eye for detail and grammar. 
  • You’re radically independent, resourceful and a driven problem solver with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • You lead with a proactive attitude, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and professional development.

  • Competitive Compensation – Your contributions are the reason we are successful. We offer you an hourly rate of $18-$20 (Note: As an internship, this role does not offer benefits).
