2026 Insurance, Summer Actuarial Analyst

What will you do?

You will join the RBC Insurance Investments team throughout the winter.  The roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design and implement data-driven solutions to support the CIO office's strategic initiatives.

• Liaison between the ALM & Analytics Team, Trading Execution Team, Direct Lending Team, Total Fund Management Team and Research & Asset Allocation Team to develop and maintain process to monitor investment performance, governance, risk, and reporting.

• Streamline and enhance data-driven operating model to deliver accurate and reliable information for Subject Matter Experts.

• Assist with Data-driven, AI-enabled investment platform to analyze liability, trading opportunities, performance attribution, asset allocation, risk management and reporting.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science and actively writing SOA exams.

• Prior actuarial co-op or internship experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong communication skills and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have

• Passed Predictive Analytics (PA) exam.

• Hands on AXIS modeling experience.

• Familiar with SQL and Power BI.

• Highly motivated self-starter and team player.

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either: 

• Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or 

• If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
