Department:                              Community Development


Employment Status:               Contract – 52 weeks


Salary:                                         $27.71/HR – 35 Hours per Week


Location:                                     Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:


 


Under the direction of the Economic Development Manager, and in accordance with the policies and procedures set out by Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, the Administrative Support Trainee is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to Council, management, and staff across various departments.


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:







  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business, Administrative Studies, or a related field, OR currently enrolled in a related post-secondary program

  • Valid Driver’s License




CRITERIA


 


This opportunity is proudly supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and is funded through the Indigenous Workforce Development Program.


It is a requirement under this program that the successful candidate self-identify as an Indigenous person. Eligibility requirements for the program may be found through Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation Indigenous Workforce Development Program.


To be eligible for this position, the candidate must:




  • Identify as an Indigenous person, including First Nation, Métis, or Inuit


  • Be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed or underemployed and entering a new field


  • Not have previously participated in an NOHFC-funded internship under the 2020 Mandate


  • Be 18 years of age or older


  • Be legally eligible to work in Canada


  • Reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed once hired
