Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Laura Nilson)

Position Summary:

• Grows and maintains Drosophila strains used for developmental genetics research.
• Monitors and maintains the health of the animals.
• Maintains a consistent schedule and clean work environment.
• Communicates regularly with lab members.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Organized and meticulous.
• Reliable.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to focus on the task at hand.
• Team player.
• Must be approved as a Work Study Student.

Education/Experience:

• Student enrolled in the Faculty of Science.
• Previous experience with Drosophila, preferred.

Location:  This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.  The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.

This position is covered by the AMUSE collective agreement.
