The Opportunity

Mawer Investment Management is seeking a high curiosity Applied AI & Automation Summer Student to help our Operations team streamline their workflows and strengthen controls. You will build and test practical automations using a low-code / workflow automation platform to reduce manual touchpoints in trade support, reconciliations, data quality checks, and client reporting processes.

Role Responsibilities

• Work with current Operations experts to design and implement workflow operations


• Find use cases where AI could improve current processes


• Assist in building AI agents to streamline tasks


• Triage pilot issues, monitor agent/automation performance, and escalate risks promptly with recommended solutions


• Document automations so they can be maintained for future use

Desired Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent program


• Demonstrated problem solving with data/automation


• Exposure to responsible AI concepts


• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment


• Strong interpersonal communication skills; can communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Interest in asset management/financial sector preferred


• Must be returning to post secondary school in the fall
