The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Business Programming & Automation Co-op, come grow with us! This is a 4 month co-op starting May 2026.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Business Programming role supports the design, development, and optimization of business tools, automated workflows, and data‑driven solutions that improve operational efficiency. This position contributes by translating business requirements into practical technical solutions, supporting system improvements, and enabling teams to make faster, more informed decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Business Application Development & Automation:
  
  
  
  • Design, develop, and enhance scripts, tools, or low‑code applications that automate recurring business processes and improve data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  
  
  
  

• Data Analysis, Reporting & Insights:
  
  
  
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models; analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

  Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration:

  
  
  
  
  • 
    

    Work with business users to understand requirements, translate needs into technical specifications, and recommend scalable programming or automation solutions.

  System Integration & Process Optimization:

    Assist with integrations between systems (e.g., ERP, inventory, or reporting tools) and support continuous improvement of business processes.

  Documentation, Testing & Knowledge Transfer:

    Document code, workflows, and processes; perform testing and validation; provide user support and knowledge transfer to ensure sustainability of solutions.

    
    
  
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in post secondary education in the field of data analytics, business intelligence, computer science, engineering or a related program.


• Coursework or certification in data analytics, programming, or automation tools


• Strong proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages


• Experience with data analysis, dashboards, or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Tableau, Excel advanced modeling)


• Exposure to ERP systems, business applications, or workflow automation platforms


• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions


• Strong documentation and communication skills

The hourly rate for this position is $22.15.
