Campus Media Social Media Coordinator

General Scope of duties:

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for
maintaining
all of
CFMU Radio Inc.’s social media platforms. They are expected to regularly engage with readers on those platforms, and use it as a vehicle to drive readership/listenership, new volunteers, and to keep readers informed about any pertinent Silhouette/CFMU operations. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Management Function 

• Maintain and regularly engage with readers on social media platforms 


• Share articles, shows & other stories on media platforms to ensure a wider range of readership 


• Monitor and track social media performance
  utilizing analytics and engagement metrics to inform future strategies and content 

Communication & Collaboration Function 

• Maintain a level of professionalism on media platforms to ensure that personal bias and preferences are not mistaken as those of CFMU Radio Inc. 

Volunteer Recruitment 

• Use social media platforms to inform readers on the volunteer process 


• Encourage readers and listeners who are interested in volunteering with Campus Media 

Knowledge, skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of TikTok,
  X, Instagram, YouTube
  and other social media back-ends 


• Quick typing skills 


• Strong sentence structure, little waste in grammar and choice of words 


• Interpersonal skills to communicate with readers effectively and professionally 


• Basic photo editing skills to pair media posts with relevant images 

Effort and Responsibility:

• Effort required to pay attention to detail 


• Effort required to balance academic workload and ongoing social media engagement 

Working Conditions:

• Silhouette and CFMU offices (open office with many computer terminals and a lounge) 


• Time demands may exceed stated hours of work 


• Laptop or mobile phone (with data plan) access is an asset 

Training and experience:

• Previous experience with The Silhouette or 93.3 CFMU is an asset 


• Will be trained in The Silhouette and 93.3 CFMU’s basic branding and social media presence 


• Will be trained in basic photo editing software
