Internship Summary

As the Communication/Media Intern with the Ottawa Senators, you will gain hands-on experience in the realm of sports communication and media relations. This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with the communications team, contributing to the effective management of media operations during regular season and playoff games. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for sports communications.

This is a full-time paid internship placement from September 2026 – April 2027 (8 months)

Main Responsibilities

• Manage the media accreditation table for all Senators and Black Bears regular season and playoff games


• Assist Senators’ staff during regular and playoff games with press box operations


• Assist with post-game media relations


• Assist in producing and editing media information and stat documents


• Assist in media relations for CTC events including concerts

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program requiring a placement for credit


• Strong communications skills in English


• Excellent customer service


• Team player


• Ability to research hockey and lacrosse statistical information


• Bilingualism is an asset


• Video editing and social media experience is an asset


• Organized


• Detail oriented


• Ability to work under pressure


• Good knowledge of Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)


• Flexible work hours required (Ability to work evenings, weekends and game nights as required)
