Position Summary:

The Business Enterprise Solutions Team Co-op position offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience supporting a variety of private business clients. The successful candidate will assist with full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, management reporting, government filings, and other accounting-related matters while developing their technical and professional skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping to trial balance, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, cheque runs, and account analysis


• Assist with preparing client payroll using QuickBooks and other online payroll service providers


• Assist with preparing T1, T2, and T3 tax returns


• Prepare tax and regulatory forms, including T4, T5, HST, EHT, and WSIB filings


• Draft correspondence related to client engagements


• Organize and maintain accurate client records and supporting documentation


• Assist with management reporting and other accounting-related projects as required


• Communicate professionally with clients and members of the engagement team

Qualifications/Experience:

• Currently pursuing a college diploma or university degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field


• Interest in developing a career in accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online is an asset


• Knowledge of Caseware, CaseView, or TaxPrep is an asset


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Good time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities


• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure


• Strong commitment to accuracy and quality


• Professional approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
