Are you currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field? Do you have a passion for cybersecurity, threat detection, and problem-solving? We are #hiring a Cybersecurity Student for a 4-month work term commencing May 2027, based out of our Calgary head office. If you’re a motivated self-starter with an interest in security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity tools, we want to hear from you!

You will support the cybersecurity team by monitoring security threats, investigating and responding to incidents, helping identify and address vulnerabilities, and supporting security improvements. You will also work with other teams to strengthen security controls, support compliance activities, and maintain accurate security documentation. This role is ideal for someone looking to build practical cybersecurity experience in a collaborative, enterprise environment

What you will be doing

• Monitor security alerts, investigate potential threats, and identify security incidents across enterprise security platforms


• Investigate, contain, and remediate cybersecurity incidents, including malware, phishing, and unauthorized access


• Review and prioritize vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts with internal stakeholders


• Investigate and respond to phishing, suspicious emails, endpoint threats, and malicious network activity


• Support security monitoring and investigations across endpoint, network, DNS, and web security environments


• Improve security operations through alert tuning, automation, tool optimization, and development of SOC runbooks


• Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, investigations, procedures, and security metrics


• Collaborate with Cyber GRC, Network, Server Infrastructure, and other teams to implement security controls, support compliance activities, and improve overall security posture

What we would like from you

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field


• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows server operating systems


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment


• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, security monitoring, and incident response is an asset


• Exposure to cybersecurity tools and platforms such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, Qualys, or similar technologies is an asset


• Basic knowledge of networking, cloud security, and identity and access management (IAM) is an asset

Location and other key details:

• This is a 4-month temporary position commencing May 2027, based out of our Calgary head office: 5055 11th St NE, Calgary, Alberta


• The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
