The Role

Responsible for virtually all technical work with respect to projects and service provided to customers, as a DS Developer your creativity and technical expertise to create, design and implement innovative information systems solutions.  Be on the front lines interfacing with customers while providing tier-1 service and support and value-added expertise in the areas of project management and business development. This position reports to the Director of Operations, Information Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Code development for complex, enterprise-wide, data management systems. 


• Leveraging industry best practices and tools to deliver solutions across multiple industries (i.e., food, beverage, CPG, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc.) 


• Working with a team of highly functioning professionals who have a passion for integrating world-class solutions for Fortune 500 customers 

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Enrollment in a college or university engineering technology program 


• Basic understanding of the manufacturing software arena, particularly using software that can be described as Information/MES/IIoT 


• Understanding of industrial manufacturing environments and/or industrial controls  


• Parallel examples of generating requirements specification, architecting solutions, systems analysis, and design. 


• General understanding of industrial automation PLC platforms, network design and implementation, OT/IT configurations, production and engineering processes. 


• Experience using industrial software packages provided by any or all the following vendors:  Rockwell, Siemens, Aveva/Wonderware and/or GE. 


• Exposure to network architecture design, system virtualization, and associated design tools. 


• Development experience using Python, Java, JavaScript, and/or Microsoft .NET 


• Experience with database software such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and/or InfluxDB 


• Familiar with application development methodologies, techniques and standards, configuration management, middleware, networking and communication, and hardware configuration 

Desirable

• Exposure to Inductive Automation’s Ignition Platform software an asset. 


• Experience using software and systems like MQTT, Azure DevOps, AWS, Node-Red, and Docker an asset. 

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.


• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation
Competitive salary range: $25-35/hour, based on experience.
