This position is offered through the Canada Summer Jobs program and is a great opportunity for students or youth looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional, team-based environment.
You will support the design and implementation of surveys, conduct research on local and regional development trends, and assist in analyzing data to identify economic opportunities.
The role includes preparing reports, briefing notes, and research summaries to support policy development, grant and sponsorship initiatives, and strategic decision-making. You will also assist with application and evaluation processes, contribute to meeting materials and presentations, support the development of e-commerce and market research strategies, and provide occasional support for events and engagements.
Support the Ministry of Economic Partnerships and Tourism with market research, surveys, project evaluation activities, and event support.
As per Canada Summer Jobs program requirements, candidates must be:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at start of employment
A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Legally entitled to work according to BC legislation and regulation.
International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
Job Duties
Conduct social and economic surveys at local and regional levels to assess development potential and emerging trends
Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts, and articles
Design market research questionnaires to support data collection and analysis
Assist with development of e-commerce strategies and related research initiatives
Support the Ministry of Economic Partnerships and Tourism with market research, surveys, and project evaluation activities
Contribute to policy development, grant applications, and sponsorship-related work
Assist in drafting briefing notes and supporting materials for meetings and presentations
Use and adapt to various technologies (e.g., Word, Excel, databases, and other software)
Handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Collaborate effectively in an office and team environment (experience considered an asset)
Education
In pursue of or holding College diploma/University degree in related field
