Summary 

Produce CAD/Revit drawings for our Electrical Base Building Department and provide assistance in calculations, in entry level design activities and other activities related to project management such as filing or scanning of documents.

Responsibilities/General Management

• Generate suggestions for improving work


• Keep Group Lead appraised of activities


• Participate in training courses as requested


• Schedule workload appropriately, maximizing productive time


• Work enthusiastically with the Group to accomplish common objective

Production

• Communicate regularly with team to ensure schedules are met


• Comply with company Design and CAD Standards


• Create AutoCAD/Revit drawings from mark-ups or instructions from Group members


• Create working drawings using AutoCAD/Revit


• Highlight completed mark-ups and return drawings


• Perform design calculations under the guidance of Group members


• Maintain drawings including architectural backgrounds up-to-date


• Organize and print drawing sets as requested in a timely fashion


• Produce plot files, PDF, part plans, CN and SI, as required


• Review drawings for quality control


• Set up drawings in an organized fashion and appropriately labelled


• Set up X-Refs


• Store, manage and archive drawing files and record sets of drawings in accordance with company Project Management Standards


• Update backgrounds


• Store and manage project documentation in accordance with company Project Management Standards

Required Skills 

• Enrolled in an Engineering program


• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD


• Experience with 3-D modeling and REVIT is an asset


• Experience with reading and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Interior Designer and Architectural drawings


• Experience with Windows and general computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel


• Good problem-solving and analytical skills


• Good time management and organizational skills


• Strong interpersonal communication skills


• Ability to think independently


• Detail-oriented
