Job Description - Employee Technology Services - Co-op Student

As a member of the Employee Technology Services (ETS HUB) team at Irving Oil, your role will be an integral part of our Information Technology (IT) Service and Operations team. In this role you will have an opportunity to work with experienced professionals who support the technology within our organization. You’ll be interacting with employees in-person, at our Home Office. 

 

The team sits within our Technology team under the IT Service, Operations and Infrastructure teams. 

 

*This is an 8 month work term September 2026 to April 2027.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution for software and hardware issues that vary from basic to moderate complexity 

  • Provide technical assistance on Microsoft (MS) Windows operating systems, MS Office suite (including MS Outlook), and Web Browsers 

  • Provide technical assistance on mobile devices such as Android, iPhones and iPads 

  • Triage problems, not just the symptoms, and taking action to prevent problems from recurring 

  • Logging of all calls into an IT Service Management Ticketing tool with clear and concise language 

 

Your Skills: 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Enjoys problem solving 

  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Interpersonal skills; approachable 

  • Knowledge of common infrastructure technologies  

 

Your Experience: 

  • Currently enrolled in an IT related program 

  • Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and enrolled for next academic semester.
