Along with Lakeland Power, Lakeland Generation and Lakeland Networks, Lakeland Solutions is one of the four subsidiaries of Lakeland Holding Ltd., dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for the electrical energy industry, delivering value to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director of Lakeland Solutions, we are seeking current students pursuing a program in the Renewable Energy industry or in a relevant discipline to join our team and assist with our newest project, Lakeland EV Charging, where we are developing an EV charging network across our territory. Additionally, the successful candidate would be required to assist with ongoing monitoring, operations and maintenance of our existing assets, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage systems. This co-op placement is planned to begin in the Summer of 2026 (May-August).
Responsibilities:
Assist with the Lakeland EV Charging project implementation.
Assist in computer-aided design drafting (AutoCAD).
Complete field inspections to determine the condition of assets and compliance with standard construction.
Must be able to work safely following all Regulations, company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Revise, update, and create reports.
Conduct site visits to gather field data for design or records purposes and final reporting.
Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
Work with Microsoft-based software such as Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting and individually.
Work within company values and policies at all times.
Think creatively and propose new solutions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an Energy Systems/Renewable Energy post-secondary program or a relevant discipline.
A valid ‘G’ License with a clean driver abstract.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Knowledge of the Electrical Distribution Infrastructure is considered an asset.
Knowledge of the Electric Vehicles (EV’s) and EV Charging Infrastructure is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Renewable Energy Resources and non-wire alternatives is considered an asset.
Experience in government funding and regulatory environment is considered an asset.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, is required.
Knowledge and/or experience of the maintenance, operation and theory of electricity, computers & electronics.
Must be adept at interacting constructively (both verbal and written) with customers and other employees.
Proficiency in occupational health and safety legislation, safe work practices, work protection codes, and other safety policies and procedures, including First Aid/CPR and WHMIS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
