Engineering Summer Student

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a well-established heavy civil construction company specializing in drilling & blasting, mass excavation, pipe and underground utilities, concrete placement, and asphalt paving. We are looking to hire an individual with experience using CAD software, this experience can be through education or work experience. This role will be focused on supporting our surveying department with a variety of technical and administrative functions. 

Requirements

• Proficiency with CAD software.


• In process, or completed diploma in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technician, or a related field experience.
  


• Experience with Robotic Total Station, GNSS survey equipment, and Trimble Access an asset. 
  


• Consistently work in a safe & efficient manner.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.


• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specifications.


• Valid Class 5 Driver License.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Surveyor with survey calculations, staking information, and project coordination.

• Prepare and maintain detailed CAD drawings for heavy civil construction projects.


• Process and manage survey data collected from GPS and Total Station equipment.
  


• Provide control lines and elevations required for accurate measurements and correct installation of materials.


• Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and survey crews to support project requirements.


• Maintain organized records of drawings, survey files, and project documentation.


• Perform quality control checks on survey and drafting deliverables.
  


• Other duties as required.
