Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal.  If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.

Based in Vancouver, the Co-op/Intern, Financial Planning & Analysis will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, and support the team in developing solutions and delivering results. This role requires strong analytical skills, a keen desire to learn, and the ability to think creatively and “outside the box.”

What You Will Experience:

• Assist with management reporting and analysis, driving key insights, recommendations and proposed next steps

• Assist with business re-forecasts across various area of the P&L

• Develop and update presentations for both internal and external audiences

• Create/Manage financial models used to calculate current and projected performance under various scenarios

• Maintain and build a comprehensive benchmarking library

• Prepare ad hoc analysis tied to key business needs and executive management requests

• Other duties as required

What You Will Bring:

• Currently enrolled in an academic program, preferably in Commerce with a specialization in Accounting or Finance with good working knowledge of accounting/finance principles (GAAP/IFS) and operational finance.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Good working knowledge of using technology in a finance environment, proficient with accounting/finance systems, ERP, analytical and BI tools Highly beneficial to have prior experience with systems such as Yardi, IBM cognos.

• Previous experience working within a real estate company (asset management or development) Good working knowledge of accounting/finance principles (GAAP/IFRS) and operational finance

The expected hourly range for this role is $23 to $25.
