Job Description - Global Talent Coordinator (Canada Summer Job Program)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid)


Reports to: Manager, Talent Advisory Services, Global Talent


Program: Canada Summer Job


Position Type: Temporary, Full-time (up to 8 weeks/35 hours per week)


Language requirements: French and English are required; Spanish is an asset


Salary: $17.60/hour (plus 4% vacation pay as a benefit)

ABOUT THE ROLE


The Global Talent Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Global Talent team. The position entails working closely with the International Programs Team, Country Program Offices (CPOs), and the Engagement team to effectively recruit, select, assess, train, send, manage, and reintegrate Cuso International volunteers. The role will also include support in staff-related functions.


 


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our Global Talent (GT) team. The Ideal candidate is enthusiastic, organized, and eager to learn in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, with a passion for empowering team members and a commitment to excellent service.


 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage the volunteer and employee recruitment selection and placement process (including assessment, references, training, medical clearance, police checks, visa and work permits, etc.) in collaboration with other members of the GT team.

  • Oversee onboarding processes, including managing requests, coordinating schedules with managers, and arranging onboarding sessions in collaboration with other members of the GT team

  • Manage volunteer and employee-related data in the database.



  • Generate reports and analyze data for HR metrics, compensation, and benefits.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Corporate Services team.

  • Assist with planning and coordinating internal and external organizational events.



POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



  • Eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program (youth candidate).

  • Basic experience in volunteer/consultant management or customer service.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), databases and web research

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Passionate about supporting and empowering team members.

  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.


 


ELIGIBILITY:
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must:



  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age.

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status in Canada.

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
