The Human Factors Team works continuously to improve the comfort, usability, stability and interoperability of our products. We want military and law enforcement customers to choose Galvion products and enjoy using them. To that end, we continue to investigate materials, processes and equipment empowering the Design & Engineering Teams to confidently make user-centered decisions.



The HF Intern will help to plan, organize and conduct assessments with helmets & other protective equipment. This will include testing comfort, stability and interoperability, reporting and presenting findings to the Design & Engineering Teams and retesting as required. The HF Intern will also be involved in measuring head anthropometry, learning how to size and fit a helmet, conducting research, facility support, health & safety and data analysis as required.



This internship starts in May and ends in mid-to-late August 2026.



About the role - you'll need to:



  • Plan and conduct human assessments of military protective head gear including helmets, displays, night vision, protective eyewear and communications headsets

  • Report and present findings to the Design & Engineering Teams

  • Learn how to measure head anthropometry to size helmets

  • Learn how to fit, adjust and evaluate the fit of helmets

  • Conduct research and perform other tasks as required



WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED



  • Currently pursuing a degree in the field of biomechanics, ergonomics, industrial engineering, human factors or a related field

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and time management are key

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications is essential, specifically you will be expected to process and graph data in Excel, organize assessment findings in PowerPoint to share with the Design & Engineering Teams

  • Experience with Mini Tab and MatLab are beneficial

  • Ability to work independently AND as an enthusiastic team player
