Position: HVAC Technician Trainee
Location: Cambridge, ON region
Type: Existing vacancy
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Compensation Range: $33-40 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our HVAC Technician Training Program. Our program combines on-the-job training and mentorship from seasoned HVAC Technicians with Company-sponsored continued education/license certification. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to hone their skills on our large commercial equipment in Cambridge and the surrounding region. If you are ready to graduate from residential to commercial HVAC projects this could be the job for you.

Hourly compensation reflects annual salary, not including travel allowance or other benefits.

What will I be learning?

• Work with experienced G1 mechanics and grow towards becoming a G1 and 313A licenses


• Maintain focus on tenant satisfaction and energy conservation


• Troubleshoot all aspects of HVAC in high-rise apartment buildings including condensing modulating boilers and variable-speed drives


• Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment


• Provide consistent monitoring of automation systems


• Willingness and ability to learn how to monitor and fine-tune buildings through our automation systems


• Oversee HVAC-related mechanical projects


• Maintain HVAC logs as required


• Regularly update knowledge and skills through employer-sponsored educational programs


• Comply with all safety code requirements

Qualifications:

• Gas technician 2 license is required


• 313D refrigeration license is required


• Basic understanding of HVAC automation systems is an asset


• Interest in growing skills in refrigeration, preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, decarbonization, and energy management


• Efficient time manager with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.


• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in-person, over the phone and via e-mail.
