Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial, and detail-oriented Business Development Intern for a 12 month contract to support Bosch's hydrogen and energy transition activities across Canada.

This role offers hands-on experience in market development, customer engagement, project origination, policy analysis, and hydrogen infrastructure development. The successful candidate will work closely with Bosch's business development team to identify new market opportunities, engage prospective customers, support the development of hydrogen project concepts, and help expand Bosch's presence in the Canadian hydrogen ecosystem.

This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about sustainability, clean energy, innovative technologies, and building new business opportunities in emerging markets.

Location: Hybrid – Mississauga, Ontario (2 days/week in office)

Duration: 12 months

Compensation: $24.00–$25.00/hour

Market Development & Opportunity Identification

  • Maintain and expand Bosch's database of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and end-use projects across Canada.
  • Track project maturity, stakeholders, technology pathways, funding opportunities, and investment activity.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities aligned with Bosch's hydrogen product portfolio.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments.

Customer Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and research prospective customers, project developers, utilities, EPC firms, industrial end-users, fleet operators, OEMs, and government stakeholders.
  • Support customer outreach campaigns through email, phone, LinkedIn, and industry events.
  • Assist in qualifying opportunities and maintaining customer engagement records within Bosch's CRM system.
  • Support preparation for customer meetings and follow-up activities.

Hydrogen Project Concept Development

  • Support the development of new hydrogen project concepts and business cases across Canada.
  • Identify potential project partners, locations, applications, and funding opportunities.
  • Assist in evaluating technical, commercial, and policy considerations for potential projects.
  • Support the development of hydrogen hub, mobility, industrial decarbonization, and infrastructure concepts.

Market Intelligence & Policy Research

  • Monitor Canadian hydrogen policies, incentive programs, funding opportunities, and regulatory developments.
  • Assess potential impacts on Bosch products, customers, and market opportunities.
  • Prepare concise market intelligence reports and recommendations.

CRM & Business Development Support

  • Maintain accurate customer and project records in Bosch's CRM system.
  • Support opportunity tracking and sales pipeline management.
  • Help monitor project funnel growth, customer engagement, and business development KPIs.

Trade Shows & Industry Events

  • Support Bosch's participation in hydrogen and energy industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Assist with event planning, logistics, marketing materials, and post-event follow-up.
  • Represent Bosch professionally during industry engagements where appropriate.

Presentations & Executive Reporting

  • Develop presentations, dashboards, briefing notes, and reports for management and customer meetings.
  • Create visualizations and summaries to support strategic decision-making.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the business development team.

Qualifications

Education

Student currently pursuing a degree or diploma in:

  • Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial)
  • Business Administration
  • Economics
  • Environmental Science
  • Public Policy
  • Energy Systems
  • Sustainability
  • Related disciplines

Skills & Experience

  • Interest in hydrogen, clean energy, industrial decarbonization, energy infrastructure, or sustainable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to research, synthesize information, and communicate insights clearly.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems, Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, or similar tools is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian energy sector, hydrogen ecosystem, or infrastructure development is considered an asset.
  • French-English bilingualism is considered an asset.
