Informatics & Analytics Intern (1 vacancy)
OBI’s paid internships are competitive and offer unique training opportunities for you to learn, to be mentored, and to develop valuable “beyond the bench” skills to help launch your career. You will work in a stimulating environment while gaining experience that will advance your career path. Past interns have leveraged the opportunity into vibrant careers in companies and not-for-profit organizations where employers value the quality of OBI interns.
Interns are assigned to a specific team and work collaboratively across teams within OBI to broaden experiences as part of OBI’s mandate to train the next generation of leaders in Ontario’s neurotech cluster. OBI internships run for a six-month term starting in May.
The Informatics and Analytics Intern will work both independently and with the OBI informatics team to contribute to exciting ongoing activities, including Brain-CODE, OBI’s unique, large-scale informatics platform for data collection, sharing, and analysis as well as with OBI’s Centre for Analytics, which facilitates the development and access to neuroanalytics skills, data and computing to accelerate discovery. The intern’s responsibilities may include the following activities:
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with an MSc. or PhD. in Neuroscience, or a related field, with interest or knowledge in informatics. You have a firm understanding of the importance of research, knowledge of Ontario’s neuroscience scene and are committed to improving brain health.
You are creative, self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You are versatile and flexible in your ability to coordinate multiple tasks and anticipate and modify your work plans to meet evolving priorities.
