Our team is dedicated to improving lives and safeguarding the environment through our products and services.\n\nJoin Our Team: Making a Difference at Eaton \nAre you passionate about design and eager to learn in a hands-on engineering environment? \nWould you like to be part of a dynamic site engineering design team where you can build practical skills and gain real-world experience? \nAs an intern, you will support the mechanical design of low-voltage distribution assemblies and collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and supply chain to help support live customer orders\u2014while learning from experienced engineers along the way. \n\u2022 INNOVATION: Support the customization of new and existing products using Inventor to meet live customer orders. \n\u2022 ANALYSIS: Assist in reviewing incoming Custom Switchboard orders to help identify new design elements and potential gaps. \n\u2022 ORGANIZATION: Help maintain the Product Option Matrix to support visibility into available configurations and product line gaps. \n\u2022 IMPROVEMENT: Participate in product improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement. \n\u2022 DOCUMENTATION: Support the creation and maintenance of standard drawings and modules, including Engineering Change Notices, under guidance. \n\u2022 OPTIMIZATION: Learn about manufacturing methods, materials, and specifications by supporting Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) activities and exposure to FMEA and VA/VE tools. \n\u2022 QUALITY: Gain exposure to quality processes by assisting with CSA/UL audits, non conformance material requests (NCMRs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs), as needed.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Currently enrolled in a bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or College diploma program in Mechanical Technology or related stream with an accredited institution or a recent graduate. \n\u2022 Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future. \n\u2022 This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must reside within 120 kms of work location to be considered for this role.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Experience with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D Modelling software. \n\u2022 Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. \n\u2022 Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community. \n\n## \n\nPosition criteria: \n\u2022 Effective time management and project management skills. \n\u2022 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. \n\u2022 Excellent presentation skills and public speaking experience. \n\u2022 Demonstrated problem-solving ability. \n\u2022 Ability to learn market influences. \n\u2022 Customer service skills.\n\nAt Eaton we leverage artificial intelligence to recommend jobs to you that match the skills and experience required for the open role.
