Job Summary

The IT Technician Co-op will work on various analyses as required for procurement, compare IT solutions and products and make recommendations, Asset Management tasks and related business requirements. The co-op will take on an important role of assessing equipment needs, repairs, and installations and will assist the team with implementation and troubleshooting while continuing to develop their understanding of IT, networks and computers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, power up, and troubleshoot electronic security systems, including Access Control, Cameras, Intercom, and Intrusion Systems
• Perform cabling tasks: jack, terminate, dress, test, and troubleshoot wiring for security systems
• Interpret and communicate blueprints, drawings, work orders, and technical diagrams accurately
• Provide professional project communication, including updates, reports, and adherence to schedules
• Collect data from automated and manual processes and assist with improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with the team to prepare and validate asset records, manage technical requests across production sites, and ensure timely closure
• Demonstrate strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Key Qualifications

• Pursuing post-secondary studies in Engineering, Computer Systems Technician, IT Infrastructure, or a related field
• Valid Driver’s Licence with access to a vehicle is required for travel between sites
• Proficient in basic computer skills within a Microsoft-based environment, with strong expertise in Excel
• Solid understanding of IT systems, networks, and computer hardware/software
• Comfortable using technical and digital communication channels
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding technical specifications and technology components
