Opportunity
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant will be on the Marketing and Communications team and will support day-to-day marketing and communications activities that inspire support for Albertans facing cancer. This role provides hands-on experience across a variety of marketing functions, including digital, content, campaigns, and administrative coordination.
Note: This is for a temporary, summer contract with the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This role is funded through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. How You'll Contribute
Marketing & Campaign Support
Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
Support project timelines, deliverables, and tasks in coordination with the Marketing Manager.
Provide general administrative support to ensure campaign assets are delivered smoothly.
Proofread materials including emails, web content, social posts, and print collateral.
Assist in drafting and editing content for various channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice and guidelines.
Support storytelling efforts by organizing content, quotes, and impact stories.
Social Media & Community Monitoring
Assist with scheduling and publishing social media content.
Monitor social media channels for comments and messages, flagging items that require response and track engagement.
Support with ad-hoc event content capturing, release forms, and organizing inventory
Metrics & Reporting
Help track and compile performance metrics across campaigns (email, social, web).
Maintain organized tracking documents and assist in preparing summary reports.
Support the team in gathering insights to inform future marketing efforts.
File & Asset Management
Organize and maintain marketing files, including images, videos, and campaign assets.
Ensure consistent naming conventions and proper storage for easy team access.
Assist in coordinating assets across internal teams and external partners.
Support the marketing and communications team with other projects and initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications
Since the Government of Canada has funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and legally entitled to work in Canada. This includes Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or persons on whom refugee protection has been conferred.International students are not eligible.
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital tools
Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a team environment.
Clear Background Check
Valid Driver’s License
