Purpose/Summary:

Assist Engineers, Designers and EITs in entry level design activities, produce Mechanical CAD/Revit drawings, provide assistance in calculations and other activities related to project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General Management: 

• Generate suggestions for improving work.


• Keep Group Lead apprised of activities.


• Participate in training courses as requested.


• Schedule workload appropriately, maximizing productive time.


• Work enthusiastically with the Group to accomplish common objective.

Production: 

• Communicate regularly with team to ensure schedules are met.


• Comply with company Design and CAD Standards.


• Create AutoCAD/Revit drawings from mark-ups or instructions from Group members.


• Create working drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.


• Highlight completed mark-ups and return drawings.


• Perform design calculations under the guidance of Group members.


• Maintain drawings including architectural backgrounds up-to-date.


• Organize and print drawing sets as requested in a timely fashion.


• Produce plot files, PDF, part plans, CN and SI, as required.


• Review drawings for quality control.


• Set up drawings in an organized fashion and appropriately labelled. Set up X-Refs.


• Store, manage and archive drawing files and record sets of drawings in accordance with company Project Management Standards.


• Update backgrounds.


• Store and manage project documentation in accordance with company Project Management Standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in an Engineering program


• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD


• Experience with 3-D modeling and REVIT is an asset


• Experience with reading and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Interior Designer and Architectural drawings


• Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel), BlueBeam, and general computer skills


• Good problem-solving and analytical skills


• Good time management and organizational skills


• Strong interpersonal communication skills


• Ability to think independently


• Detail-oriented
