Your Role as Mechanical Engineering Intern 


Reporting to the Supervisor of Mechanical Engineering Services the Mechanical Engineering Intern will be working under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical designers and mechanical engineers while performing entry-level engineering work on small and large-scale projects.  You will also execute, coordinate and expedite a succession of different engineering activities as part of capital expenditure projects. 



The Mechanical Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to work on either our Mechanical team supporting the Mining Sector or on our specialized Mechanical team within our Mine Hoist Division.  



Your Key Accountabilities 



  • Technical and Documentation  





    • Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. 







    • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and assessments to gather data for project designs. 







    • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers. 







    • Perform basic load calculations, and equipment selection for mechanical systems. 







    • Support troubleshooting and provide technical solutions to complex engineering problems. 







    • Support QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as directed.  





  • Project Coordination and Client Management 





    • Participate in client meetings to gather technical requirements, providing insights and solutions as needed. 







    • Foster relationships with clients by delivering quality work, maintaining professionalism, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. 







    • Assist project managers in tracking project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time delivery. 







    • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution. 







    • Contribute to progress reports, meeting minutes, and other project documentation. 







    • Support the review of project milestones and provide input to improve efficiency. 







    • Provides administrative support to project teams. 




 


Qualifications 



  • Working towards a diploma or degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering is , with completion of 2 years.  



  • Familiarity with AutoCAD. 



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.  



  • Strong analytical skills. 



  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. 



  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work. 



  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices. 


 


Term
(40 hours/week)

End Date: August 28, 2026
