Your work will strengthen powerful storytelling.
You’ll help transform how Jack.org manages and shares its video content, making youth voices more accessible and impactful across the country.

You’ll build in-demand creative and technical skills.
From digital asset management to video editing, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with real content used in national campaigns and programs.

You’ll help create something lasting.
Your work will establish systems and processes that improve how media is archived, accessed, and used long after your internship ends.

You’ll collaborate with a creative, mission-driven team.
You’ll work closely with Marketing & Communications professionals and contribute ideas that shape how stories are told.

Why this role matters:

Jack.org has a rich library of youth-led video content that captures powerful stories and impact, but it currently exists across decentralized systems.

As Multimedia Archivist Intern, you will play a key role in transforming this content into a cohesive, accessible, and future-ready media archive. Your work will enable teams across the organization to efficiently access, repurpose, and share video assets in support of programs, campaigns, and advocacy.

In addition, you’ll contribute to the creation of a new “sizzle reel” that showcases the organization’s mission, impact, and the power of youth leadership, helping elevate storytelling and external engagement.

What you’ll do:

Video Asset Organization & Archiving

  • Audit and organize existing video files across multiple sources

  • Develop a structured and sustainable digital asset management (DAM) system

  • Tag and categorize footage by theme, event, and program

  • Create documentation and recommendations for long-term content management

Content Creation & Sizzle Reel Support

  • Collaborate on scripting and editing a new organizational sizzle reel

  • Prepare and optimize video files (compression, formatting, clipping, accessibility)

  • Support editing of short-form highlight and promotional videos

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the MarCom team, including Video Production, Marketing, and Communications leads

  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance storytelling

  • Support retrieval and repurposing of archived content for internal requests

General Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings and skill-building sessions

  • Maintain ethical standards when working with youth-centred and mental health-related content

What you bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program (ages 15–30 and legally able to work in Canada)

  • Experience with digital asset management or content organization systems

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of media files

  • Proficiency in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or similar

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Assets

  • Familiarity with metadata tagging and version control systems

  • Experience creating short-form videos or highlight reels

  • Background in storytelling for social impact or nonprofit organizations

  • Experience working with youth-centred or mental health-related content

What you’ll gain:

  • A full-time, paid internship ($22/hour) over 9 weeks

  • Hands-on experience in media archiving, digital asset management, and video production

  • Exposure to a national nonprofit’s Marketing & Communications function

  • A collaborative, flexible, and creative work environment

  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful youth mental health advocacy

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Video archiving & asset organization: ~40%

  • Content creation & editing: ~30%

  • Collaboration & content support: ~20%

  • Documentation & process development: ~10%

Additional Details:

  • Dates: June 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026

  • Duration: 9 weeks (full-time)

  • Location: Remote (Canada-wide), with optional in-person collaboration in Toronto

  • Work Hours: Flexible, with core collaboration between 10 AM – 4 PM ET
