Network & Security Analyst Co-op

The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Network & Security Analyst – Co-op, come grow with us!

Reporting to the Manager, Networking & Cybersecurity, the Network & Security Analyst Co-op Student supports day-to-day network and cybersecurity operations by assisting with monitoring, documentation, and basic troubleshooting activities under direct supervision. The role provides hands-on learning exposure to enterprise IT and security environments while supporting routine operational tasks. This is for a 4 or 8 month Co-op position starting in May 2026.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Network & Security Monitoring Support: 




• ​Provide day-to-day support for HPS network infrastructure under the guidance of senior team members 


• ​Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting network issues related to routers, switches, wireless networks, and connectivity â€‹


• Respond to network alerts and incidents, perform initial analysis, and escalate issues as required 


• ​Support routine network maintenance activities such as configuration reviews, patching assistance, and health checks 


• ​Help maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories   

• Operational Support Tasks: 




• Assist in reviewing security policies and identifying potential gaps or improvement opportunities â€‹


• Help analyze security alerts and logs to determine severity and escalate issues as required 


• ​Monitor network and system activity to identify unusual or suspicious behavior  

• Documentation & Reporting




• ​Ability to assist with maintaining security documentation, procedures, and training materials    




• User & IT Support Assistance 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)


• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles 


• Familiarity with Windows or Linux environments 


• Willingness to learn enterprise tools and processes 


• Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar


• CompTIA Security+, Introductory networking or security coursework and/or CCNA would be an asset

The hourly rate for this position is $22.15.
