Oceans Technology Internship (NSCC) - Summer 2026

As an Oceans Technologist Student Intern, you will be responsible for preparing for sea trials, marine mammal monitoring, acoustic tank testing, electronics testing, developing & deploying specialized equipment, and analyzing data. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented and passionate about their work, with an ongoing desire improve their skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and test necessary equipment for sea trials


• Deploy and retrieve specialized equipment (hydrophones, arrays, CTDs, acoustic releases, v-wings, data loggers, & other acoustic devices)


• Ensure products tested conform to manufacturing specifications


• Conduct specialized testing
  


• Manage project builds


• Analyze calibration data and prepare reports


• Prepare testing plans for various types of calibrations
  

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in the Oceans Technology Program


• Competent with Microsoft Word & Excel


• Basic understanding of acoustic principals
  


• Passionate about Ocean Technologies


• Good teamwork and communication skills


• Detail oriented and well organized

Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
