Wage Rate: $18.60 per hour

The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Summary


The Online Resources Communications Summer Student assists with the creation of online content and resources found on the Ontario Works and Lambton Works social media channels and website. The primary objective of this position is to help promote services, digitize materials, and enhance our online presence including social media. The incumbent will update, create and design webpages within the website that comply with branding standards, script and film videos for social media use, and create images, produce videos and design graphics to support online content.


Job Duties and Responsibilities


Online Support:


• Assist staff in the development of online resources through the website and social media.


• Create, edit and design assets using various marketing software. 


• Create graphics to support branding which follows program corporate standards.


• Identify opportunities for online engagement within the functionality of the website and through social media.


• Film and photograph internal and external programming and events. 


General:


• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed.


• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis.

Credentials Required


Minimum Formal Education


• Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, or web-based user experience (UX/UI) program at University or College.


• Must be returning to school in upcoming school year.


Experience


• Experience using design software, particularly the Abode Creative Suite, would be an asset.


• Knowledge of all social media platforms is an asset.


Summer Student positions with the County of Lambton may be dependent on funding and the funding criteria, which specifies that students must:



  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age

  • Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year

  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Will not have another full-time job
