Job Description - PhD Intern - Motion Perception Researcher

Huawei Canada has an immediate 4/8 months Internship opening for a Motion Perception Researcher.

About the Team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory and Autonomous driving.


About the Job:

  • Conduct literature reviews on human movement perception and control, vestibular physiology, and related fields.

  • Assist in the design and execution of experiments involving human subjects or relevant simulations.

  • Collect and analyze physiological data from sensors, motion capture systems.

  • Develop and implement algorithms for motion analysis, sensory integration, or human movement prediction.

  • Develop and contribute to Mobile application development.

  • Prepare and present research findings in meetings and reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication.



About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD program in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, human factors, kinesiology or related field.

  • Strong background in physiology, particularly vestibular function, or related fields.

  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, MATLAB and experience with mobile app development.

  • Experience with data analysis and statistical software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

  • Strong interest in human movement perception and control.
