About the Role
The Photography Summer Student plays a vital role in documenting and preserving the Museum’s artifact collection. Under the direction of the Curator/Supervisor, Lambton Heritage Museum, the student assists the Collections Coordinator, Lambton Heritage Museum to develop collections documentation records by photographing and/or scanning artifacts from the collection then editing and enhancing the images in post-production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Artifact Photography:
• Produce high-quality photographs and/or scans of artifacts from multiple angles.
• Adhere to established standards for museum photography/scans of artifacts.
• Track which artifacts have been photographed.
Photography Post-production:
• Use image manipulation software to make required adjustments to the photographs, following established standards.
• Save completed files according to museum naming conventions.
Social Media
• Create a series of social media posts based on items from the collection.
General:
• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Formal Education
• Currently enrolled in a post secondary photography program.
• Must be a returning student in upcoming school year.
Experience
• Photography knowledge and/or experience.
• Use of Adobe Photoshop or other image manipulation software.
• Work with electronic databases would be an asset.
