Pauktuutit, as the national voice of Inuit women in Canada, has a key role to play in ensuring the use of a gender-equity lens in policies impacting Inuit women, girls and gender-diverse Inuit. Our work is grounded in collaboration, advocacy and an ongoing commitment to advancing priorities that impact the lives of Inuit in three main policy areas:  across health and well-being, violence and abuse prevention, safety, and social and economic development. Our ability to do so depends heavily on partnership across government, key funders, Inuit community groups and other stakeholder organizations.  



Position Summary


We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Policy Analyst Co-op student to support the development, dissemination, and evaluation of knowledge translation and mobilization initiatives. This role is ideal for students interested in research, communications, public engagement, health or social policy, and translating complex information into accessible content for diverse audiences.



Key Responsibilities



  • Assist in developing translation materials including reports, briefing notes, policy briefs infographics, presentations, fact sheets, and digital content

  • Support the dissemination of research findings through webinars, newsletters, social media, and stakeholder communications.

  • Coordinate meetings, events, and engagement activities with researchers, partners, and community stakeholders

  • Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and background research

  • Assist in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and evaluation metrics

  • Support content development for websites, internal platforms, and communication campaigns

  • Help ensure material are accessible, audience-focused, and aligned with organizational standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on research and knowledge mobilization initiatives


 




Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Health Science, Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Knowledge Translation, Indigenous Studies or a related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and accessible language

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or virtual engagement platforms is considered an asset

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment



Preferred Skills



  • Experience supporting research, communities, or stakeholders’ engagement projects

  • Familiarity with knowledge translations, knowledge mobilization, or evidence-informed practices

  • Experience creating digital and visual communication materials is considered an asset

  • Customize knowledge translation activities to address the unique cultural context of each of the four Inuit regions and urban Inuit
