Reporting to the Sr Engineer, Project Engineering, this position will be responsible for engineering support of projects in various states of conception, feasibility, design, construction and commissioning. You will assist the technical leads, project engineers, and project managers of the multidiscipline Capital Projects team for the Bethune K+S Potash Mine.
The position is full-time for a 16-month term (starting May 2026) and is located at the Saskatoon Head office.
The successful candidate will:
Provide overall support for engineering deliverables not limited to design reviews, performing engineering checks, vendor drawing reviews and site inspections
Coordinate with and be exposed to technical experts, discipline leads and senior engineers
Collect field data and collaborate with site personnel while gaining hands on experience at a source industrial facility for a global company
Prepare technical reports, scope of work, studies and design details
Learn applicable real world engineering practices
Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and AVEVA
Assist with development of documents including engineering specifications, feasibility studies / tradeoffs, and technical decision records
Manage project definition and progress
Report on project details and provide status updates
Integrate cross discipline design details
Analyze safety hazards and risks pertaining to projects

Qualifying requirements for this role:
Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies with a focus in engineering from an accredited university or college
Preferred Mechanical or Industrial Systems Engineering students; other disciplines will also be considered
Must be authorized to legally work in Canada
Returning to full-time studies
Hold a valid driver's license as travel is required
Ability to work independently
Ability to learn quickly and take on new challenges
Ability to adapt and embrace change
Aptitude in teamwork, ability to collaborate with team members of several disciplines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Shows critical and creative thinking to problem solve and provide solutions
Results-Oriented Self-Starter attitude
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
Previous potash and solution mining experience would be considered an asset
Previous engineering co-op work experience will be considered an asset
Employment is subject to successfully completing KSPC's pre-employment checks which may include criminal record check, education verification, and drug & alcohol testing.
