Job Description - Student, Quality Assurance Coordinator

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

This opportunity is a 4-month term from May – August 2026, and is based at the Bethune mine site.

Reporting to the QA/QC team, the Student, Quality Assurance Coordinator will support Project team members with a variety of day-to-day activities to help ensure K+S Potash Canada’s quality standards are met across all multi-disciplinary project phases, including construction, manufacturing, and related activities. The role will involve supporting quality reviews, inspections, and audits of KSPC contractors and vendors/suppliers, as well as contributing to the ongoing development, maintenance, and implementation of the project construction quality management system.

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review contractor Quality System, Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plan(s) for scope of work.

  • Support contractors/vendors with the understanding and functions of the KSPC Quality requirements, ITP, ITR, MDL, etc. processes.

  • Monitor compliance of construction/fabrication activities to the Construction Quality Program through various impromptu inspections, audits, etc.

  • Ensure adequate equipment preservation procedures in place for each projects’ requirements.

  • Engage with and support the construction team, contractors and others with regards to quality issues, information, resolve, etc.

  • Review and approve QA/QC qualifications/certifications e.g. NDE, welding, other procedures e.g. WPS, Hydro tests etc.

  • Evaluate the qualifications of welders and NDT technicians with regards to assigned activities.

  • Conduct witness and hold inspections to ensure construction meets quality objectives.

  • Review of potential non-conformances for initiation and issuance of an NCR, follow through with approved disposition and then on to close out, and continue the review non-conformances and opportunities during construction, commissioning and start-up and their corrective actions.

  • Progressive review of Inspection & Test Reports, redlined drawings, etc. as construction progresses and support TDC with turnover/handover of project documents.

  • Ensure accurate construction Punch List with defined responsibilities is populated and maintained.

  • Participate in lessons learned sessions post contract construction completion.

  • Participate with frequently scheduled site safety walks/inspections and participate in monthly KSPC group safety meetings.

YOUR PROFILE

Qualifying requirements for this role:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies in a Mechanical or other Technical Engineering program and will be returning to full time studies.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate competing priorities.

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and also capable of working independently.

  • Adheres to safe working protocols.

  • Capacity to work indoors or outdoors in various elements.

  • Comfortable at heights, noise, and an operating plant environment.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

  • Willingness to learn with a dedicated interest in technical engineering application.

  • Previous industrial construction experience considered but not required.

  • Working knowledge of the following is considered an asset:

    • Microsoft office products.

    • AutoDesk Construction Cloud products (Docs, Insight, Cost Management, Build).

The Bethune mine is located approximately 45-minutes from Regina and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Working hours are 6:45am - 4:45pm, Monday to Thursday. Occasional overtime may be required.

Subsidized bus transportation from Moose Jaw is available. Transportation from Regina or surrounding area is not provided.
