Location: Core placement will be at one of the following Patrol Areas:
Term: May to August 2026 (approximate 4-month term)
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some overtime and weekend work is required.
Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Hand for the designated Patrol Area, the student will assist in the completion of scheduled summer road maintenance. The main duties will include traffic control (flag-person), weed trimming using a gas powered ‘weed-eater’, sign repairs, road patrol, hand patching and other duties as required. Lighter duties will include general maintenance/repair of county shop buildings, and may include sweeping, painting, and other general housekeeping duties.
Candidates must be willing to work weekday & Saturday overtime as required.

Experience with small tools and weed trimmers is an asset.
Successful applicants will be required to provide a driver’s abstract indicating a clean driving record, prior to commencement.
Students will receive in-depth Health & Safety training provided by SDG Counties prior to beginning work.
Note: Summer Students are responsible for supplying their own C.S.A. approved work boots, with steel toes and shanks.
