Job Description - Student - Water Maintenance (Environmental Services)

REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Superintendent/Lead Hand
LOCATION: Initial Placement - Gilbert Water Plant / Mobile

Job Duties:

To help with the upkeep of grounds, buildings, and other assets in the County of Brant.
Provide good customer service as needed.
Cleaning and painting at water facilities, painting of fire hydrants.
Landscape maintenance including grass cutting/trimming.
Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Familiar with operation of hand tools.
General mechanical aptitude.
Valid driver's licence (G or G2) and access to a personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Physical ability to perform essential job duties.
Self starter with a good work ethic.
Ability to undertake outdoor and physical work in all weather conditions.
Painting and landscaping skills would be considered an asset.
Knowledge and experience in a municipal government setting would be considered an asset.

Conditions of Employment:

The successful candidate must submit a driver's abstract satisfactory to the County prior to start date.
CSA approved work boots must be personally supplied by the successful candidate.

Duration: May to August (40 hours/week)
Hourly Rate: $19.35 (2025)

You must be enrolled in a post-secondary Institution and returning to school in the fall in order to qualify for this position with the exception of completing a final co-op term.
