This position is dedicated to those passionate about empowering youth and fostering community well-being in Sherwood Park. Although all the following accountabilities are important, the largest emphasis will be assisting the Youth Pastors in planning and executing summer ministry and facilitating events that care for the children and the elderly in the Sherwood Park community. This role requires strong competencies in leadership, administration, communication, and collaboration. To qualify, you must be between the ages of 15-30, be a Canadian citizen, or a permanent resident. This position not only emphasizes leadership and collaboration but also provides valuable work experience in program coordination and community service.

Key Accountabilities:

• Participate in the planning and execution of Summer Youth programming from May-Aug that is inclusive to a diverse range of participants


• Assist in coordinating events designed to care for the elderly in the community, fostering intergenerational relationships and support.


• Facilitate weekly programs for children and participate in the operations of a weeklong summer camp, ensuring engaging and safe activities


• Participate in the planning and preparation of Youth programming for the 2026 ministry year; including planning creative and engaging games, events, and activities, that work towards supporting the physical and mental health, creativity and the connection of teenagers


• Assist in developing events and activities that provide care to the Sherwood Park Community

Additional Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Complete Abuse Prevention process


• Attend staff meetings and staff chapels as scheduled.


•  Follow and live by the “Rule of Life” adopted by the entire SPAC staff and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Staff Handbook.

Qualifications:

• Must be between the ages of 15 – 30


• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.


• Personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ

• Computer skills

Working Hours: 35 hours per week – hourly wage

Reporting to: Youth Pastor and Department supervisors where applicable.
