Position Overview

The Summer Intern - Aquatic Animal Health is a full-time, temporary position. As a Summer Intern, you will report directly to the Senior Research Associate and be an integral part of our research team, which provides high-quality contract R&D support and professional services to the global aquaculture industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the setup, maintenance, and termination of in vivo


• Performing routine sampling, animal health assessment and laboratory procedures.


• Ensuring animal husbandry and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.


• Ensuring the operational efficiency of the aquatic laboratory.


• Taking care of the laboratory, including equipment calibration and qualification.


• Maintaining lab books, lab reports, and meticulous record-keeping.


• Fulfilling any additional duties as required within the general scope of the role.


• Communicating and collaborating effectively with all team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient research environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Currently enrolled in postsecondary education in Biology or a related field


• A willingness to learn new skills and techniques.


• Physical ability to handle routine and repetitive tasks, including cleaning of experimental systems, bending, and lifting.


• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.


• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work effectively under deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage of $18/hour, may vary depending on experience.
