About Touchstone Institute


Touchstone Institute is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors and receives financial support from the Government of Ontario, in addition to generating revenue through direct business to business contracts seeking competency assessment and learning solution services. 


It’s the largest assessment centre of its kind in Canada, providing professional competency assessment and learning programs to support the delivery of high-quality health care. Touchstone Institute works closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who provide subject matter expertise to assess and improve the level of competency across individual practice.


Touchstone Institute has become an integral part of the commitment to internationally trained health professionals seeking entry into training and practice in Ontario and has expanded to provide assessment, certification, and quality assurance programs for practitioners across Canada.


 


Position Description


The summer student will play a key role in strengthening the integration between the PRP program delivery team and the Assessment Unit. Their responsibilities will include supporting the alignment of project plans, contributing to the refinement of standard operating procedures, and assisting in the coordination of long-term scheduling activities.


Over the course of the summer, the student will gain meaningful exposure to the full assessment lifecycle, the operational realities of an assessment and learning organization, and the importance of maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and clients. They will also develop practical skills in health human resources and project management, applying these learnings directly to organizational priorities.


In addition, the student will participate in assessment activities as needed, providing hands‑on experience that complements their project and coordination responsibilities.


 


Qualifications



  • Enrollment or recent graduation from an accredited project management program, health policy, or event management program

  • Strong Microsoft Office

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Event planning/management an asset

  • This is an existing vacancy within the organization. 

  • This is a contractual role of 4 months
