Summer Student - Financial Services Representative

Souris Credit Union is a community-based full-service financial institution with assets over $136 Million, serving approximately 3500 members.   We pride ourselves on providing outstanding service and professional advice to help our members reach their financial goals. Since 2012, Souris Credit Union has contributed over 4.2 million to our members and the community through patronage rebates, charitable donations, sponsorships, and educational bursaries.

Souris Credit Union is currently accepting applications for a Summer Student Financial Services Representative to provide high quality counter and telephone service to current and prospective member-owners of the credit union and to participate in community engagement projects throughout the spring and summer.

The Position:

• Provide account services to members in a courteous and professional manner by receiving, processing, and recording financial transactions.


• Inform members of new services and products that may be beneficial to them and direct them to other staff as appropriate.


• Assist with answering telephone enquiries.


• Assisting members with digital banking - etransfers, mobile wallet, online and mobile banking.


• Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing organizational and individual goals.


• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.


• Participate in youth engagement projects to promote financial literacy to youth in our community.


• Participate in community engagement projects to promote fraud awareness and prevention.

The Person:

The ideal candidate for this position will have completed their High School Diploma and is currently enrolled or accepted as a post-Secondary student this coming fall semester. 

In addition, you possess the following skills and abilities:

• Experience and eagerness to provide superior service to our member-owners.


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.


• Professional manner and poise and sensitivity in dealing with confidential information and materials.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, keyboarding, and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

Compensation:
This position is available to start late April/ early May 2026 and continue until August 28, 2026.  Working with our community focused team, you will gain valuable experience that relates directly to business and financial programs. 

The pay rate for this position is $22.00 per hour for 38.5 hours per week.  The expected work term is approximately 18 weeks.
