As the Summer Student, Operational Resilience you’ll be part of ENMAX Power’s team focused on keeping our operations safe, prepared, and responsive. You’ll take on meaningful projects such as helping assess operational risks, developing business continuity plans, and supporting incident management training. You’ll gain exposure to emergency planning, risk analysis, and cross-functional coordination, all while building skills in project management, communication, and data analysis. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to ENMAX’s resilience strategy and learn how utilities prepare for and respond to critical events. 

 

This position is part of the 2026 ENMAX Summer Student Program. This 16-week program demonstrates ENMAX’s commitment to invest in our future workforce and supports youth in building beneficial career skills. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree or diploma program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies in the fall. 

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Advance ENMAX Power’s operational risk assessments (identifying and assessing risks across the business) 

  • Develop and test business continuity plans, and facilitate exercises to validate these plans 

  • Design and deliver incident management training workshops to increase familiarity with ENMAX Power’s incident response processes 

  • Track and report on the team’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and project outcomes 

  • Compare and benchmark current resilience processes against industry best practices and current academic theory 

 

Education Required: 

 
Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Business, Operations Management, Emergency Management, or a related discipline, and will be returning to full-time school after the work term.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Experience or coursework in data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis 

  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals and strong communication skills 

  • Safety awareness, especially when working with field teams 

  • Strong research and reporting abilities 

  • General understanding of business continuity, risk management, and incident command processes (considered an asset)

Salary: Administrator Level B, Step 1 – $24.82/hour (based on current CUPE Collective Agreement rates) 

 

Location: This role is part of our hybrid workforce with office workspace at ENMAX Place (141 – 50 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
