Location: Pilot Butte, SK Position: Full-time Temp (May 5 - August 28, 2025) Closing Date: February 5, 2026
This position is offered through the support of the Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program (see below).
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
must be between 16 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
is a student in post-secondary, vocational, or technical program;
is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
Qualifications Education and Professional Certification
Completion of a high school diploma.
Currently attending a certificate/diploma or trades program
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience in building and/or grounds maintenance role is an asset.

Ability to work with hand tools, motorized equipment (e.g. bobcat, tractor, lawnmowers) as required by the position.

Duties and Responsibilities
Services
Ensure proper upkeep of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair facility, equipment, and maintenance related issues.
Work within a schedule of preventative maintenance and recommended priority of repair work.
Responsible for accurate, timely reports of the activities and progress of repairs and projects being completed.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for participants, staff, and the community.
Meet with on-site staff to evaluate on-going and completed work.
Provide guidance and training to staff in proper and responsible use of equipment and supplies when required.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety, WHIMIS standards, and other applicable legislation.
Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, in a timely manner, and within agency standard.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Leadership

Management of Resources
Identify required assets and resources for proper maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment.
Submit receipts and reconcile expenses for manager approved expenditure.
Accountable for the cost-effective stewardship of pre-approved expenses, equipment, inventories, and supplies.
Safety
Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
Additional Requirements
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
