The Summer Student, Sustainability will support the Sustainability & Indigenous Relations Team to assess ENMAX’s performance across key environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics against industry peers, ESG frameworks, and ratings agencies. The Sustainability Summer Student will have the opportunity to work across all areas of the business in this collaborative, cross-functional role where they will have input into how ENMAX advances sustainability.

This position is part of ENMAX’s 16-week Summer Student Program (2026). ENMAX invests in future talent by providing real project experience and mentorship. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a relevant post-secondary program and returning to school after the summer term.
Major Responsibilities:
Research best practices across ENMAX’s ESG framework.
Develop a maturity assessment template for ongoing tracking of ENMAX’s ESG commitments and related industry best practices.
Support the development of ESG-related materials for internal and external communication and industry association submissions.
Research ESG frameworks and ratings agencies and update an ESG tracking matrix.
Rank ENMAX’s ESG performance against peer companies.
Support Scope 3 emissions reporting.
Education Required: Currently enrolled in a Degree or Diploma in Business, Sustainability, Economics, Environment or other relevant discipline, and returning to full-time studies following the work term.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong research and analysis skills
Effective written communication and presentation skills
Mature relationship building and collaboration skills
Data analytics experience an asset

Salary: Administrator Level B Step 1 – $24.82 / hour based on current CUPE Collective Agreement rates
Location: This role is part of our hybrid work model, with office workspace at ENMAX Place (141 – 50 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
