Job Description - Supply Management - Chemicals & Catalysts Co-op Student

 As a Chemicals & Catalysts student, you will support the team through collaborative process documentation and by contributing to continuous improvements in chemical and catalyst management practices. This includes building clear process documentation, developing a playbook of processes and practices, maintaining and enhancing a centralized database of products, identifying opportunities for efficiencies across business units, and supporting supplier-related activities. 

The Chemicals & Catalysts team is part of the greater Supply Management team based out of the Home Office. The team supports the refinery, terminals and asphalt facilities across New Brunswick and New England, helping ensure reliable operations. The team manages all chemicals and catalysts used across the business, working closely with operations and technical. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support process mapping and document workflows to improve standards and consistency 

  • Help develop a comprehensive playbook outlining how chemicals and catalysts are managed day-to-day 

  • Maintain and update databases to ensure all chemicals and commodities are accurately tracked 

  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and align processes across different business units 

  • Assist with basic supplier coordination and support negotiation preparation when needed 

Your Skills 

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word 

  • Ability to work independently and in a team 

Your Experience 

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Business Administration program  

  • Must have completed at least 1 year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
